The most common way to cook lobster is to steam it on your stove top. You can also cook lobster on the grill whole! Below you'll find the methods for successfully cooking a great tasting lobster dinner.
Step by step photo instructions for steaming a lobster
Step 1: Fill pot with water Add about 2 inches of seawater or salted fresh water to the bottom of a
large kettle. Bring the water to a roiling boil.
Step 2: Add the lobsters
Grasp the lobsters by the body, just behind the claws and add them directly to the boiling water.
Check the timing chart to see how long to cook your lobsters.
Step 3: Prepare for the meal
While the lobsters are cooking, take the opportunity to prepare for eating. Get plenty of napkins, and set
the table. If you have lobster eating utensils, like the claw crackers or picks, break 'em out. If you'll
be dipping in butter, now is a good time to melt the butter as you'll want it nice and hot to dip the
lobster in. Lastly, for the true experience break out the lobster bibs, this can get quite messy.

Step 4: Prepare the lobsters
Remove them from the pot and prepare to break and crack. Break off the large claws and the tail.
